If Evan has a favorite stuffed animal, you should take it to the surgeon too so it can have a tooth "operated on" as well. Even have the oral surgeon put a band-aid or little bandage on the face of it (as long as the tape doesn't rip off fur!). The doctors did that for me, telling me before the bone marrow transplant that Ginger would be "harvested" too, so it didn't seem so scary. Then when I woke up and saw the bandages on her hips, too, I laughed! It helped a lot for me to be not so afraid. Of course, Evan may not be afraid at all - he sounds like a real trouper!
Good luck to Evan (and more importantly, to you!). Maybe somebody needs to devise a helmet with a face/tooth guard! My dad always said all kids should wear a football helmet until they were at least 6 years old. The older I get, the more I tend to agree with him.
I am a Christian, wife and mother to four kids. I love fancy coffee, Pepsi and baked goods. I also love to do crafty things. My current project is quilting, but I'm also dabbling in making other baby items!
I'm married to Jim and we have four kidlets. Evan (11), Aidan (8), Toby (6) and the pink caboose is Avery who is four.
